Miley Cyrus Biography Miley Cyrus was born on on November 23, 1992. Her real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. Destiny's cheerful disposition and constant smiling as a child earned her the nickname Smiley, which stuck when it was shortened to Miley. Miley Cyrus became an overnight sensation in 2006 as the star of the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana. Miley's career as an actress began in 2003, when she appeared in an episode of the television series Doc, which starred her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. the same year, she acted in in the Tim Burton film Big Fish. Miley loved music from the time she was very little. She was writing lyrics and learning to sing. In 2005 she was cast in the title role of Hannah Montana. In Hannah Montana she plays a teenage girl leading a double life. By day, she is Miley Stewart, an ordinary teenager living a normal life with her friends and family, then at night she becomes Hannah Montana with the plop of a blonde wig. It is amazing how a blonde wig can change someone! LOL! Her night life as Hannah makes her a pop star guided by her dad Robby Stewart, a songwriter. Nobody, not even most of Miley's friends know she's also Hannah. It is a big secret and often very hard to keep. Since it Debuted in March 2006, Hannah Montana was an immediate success, and in October, a soundtrack CD was released. It features Miley singing eight songs from the show along with five related tracks, including a duet between Miley and her father Billy Ray Cyrus on "I Learned from You." Soon after, Miley went on tour as the opening act for The Cheetah Girls. In March 2007, the Hannah Montana album was reissued in a special edition featuring a bonus DVD, not long after the show's theme song, "The Best of Both Worlds," was released as a single. A second Hannah Montana album, Hannah Montana, Vol. 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, was released in June of 2007. Miley remains a sensation among the young and old alike.
